3,000 people died for nothing… (or How do Condi and George sleep at night?)

911 memoI really hoped this day would never happen.

I’m a New Yorker and I watched thousands of people die that day.

Mr brother is a New York City firefighter who lost about 30 of his friends that dayhe almost died himself. He worked in the pit for months.

I think about how close I came to loosing my brother that day all the timeI have nightmares about it to this day.

Tonight I loaded the DrudgeReport.com as I do a couple of times a day and I saw the memo.

I cried.

It all came back to methat horrible day followed by a couple of horrible months of that smell. I’ll never forget that smell as long as I live that horrible smell of burning plasticand flesh. If you’re from New York City you know that smell, it would go away for a couple of days, and then the wind would change and it would hit you.

I can’t forget all the fish trucks parked outside of my loft on 26th street and the West Side Highway they used to hold the body parts because there was no more room in the morgues.

I can’t forget the hundreds of ambulances parked on the West Side Highway idlingwaiting for the call. The call never came, no one survived. There was no one to help.

And now we find out that the President got a memo 30+ days before 9/11 with the title “Bin Laden determined to strike in US.”

And now we see the administration coming up with all kinds of explanations for this memo. A memo they previously refused to release.

I’m sick to my stomachmy tears of sadness are now filled with rage.

We could have stopped this. This is no time to try and cover your ass. This is the time to fall on the sword and admit you dropped the ball.

Condi, how can you get on TV and lie about this memo and say it is historical? How can you sit there and say there was no way to stop 9/11? How can look the families of the dead in the eye?

Thousands of people died because the President didn’t take this memo seriously enough.

Have some honor and just say you’re sorry.

Have some honor and step down.

This is not about politics, this is about people’s lives. Any New Yorkerany Americanshould be sick to their stomach right now.

I can’t wait to voteI’m living for that day. The day we can all fire the idiot who took a month vacation andignored this memo a monthbefore that day. His incompetence cost thousands of people their lives.

I pity you George Bushyou’ll have to live with the blood of thousands of people on your hands for the rest of your life.

How do you sleep at night?
