The Open Angel Forum is an organization I started in January of 2010 with the goal of helping up-and-coming entrepreneurs gain access to the world’s greatest angel investors.
We accomplish this by hosting three “meetings” a year in each of eight cities. These meetings feature six startup companies that are *currently* raising an angel round with a known valuation and 15 to 25 angel investors who are actively investing. Additionally, we allow three partners to buy the burgers and beers, as well as join us, at each event.
No one else is allowed to come to the meeting because, as you would expect, the startups are giving highly confidential information to the angel investors.
Our eight chapters meet three times a year and are located in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Boulder, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Seattle and London. In 2011 we will add four more cities including Tel Aviv and Shanghai. The other two cities we are currently debating, with San Diego, Austin, Toronto, Seoul and Chicago on the short list.
Jason Krute is the General Manager of the Open Angel Forum and can be reached at krute AT openangelforum.com.
