I went through the same thing when launching paid Q&amp;A site Uclue.com except that Uclue operates on a much smaller scale. We obtained our seed questions by giving former Google Answers Researchers some seed money with which they could post questions. (Many of those people also became Uclue&#039;s researchers).

We used a press release distribution service (because we are a much smaller organization than Mahalo). Because there was much interest (due to the recent demise of Google Answers) this was successful.

I have spent some time at Mahalo Answers and do admire the quality of implementation of the website. In particular the process to sign up and post one&#039;s first comment is really smooth and seamless. We could learn many lessons from how well you have done it. Good luck!</description>
