TechRepublic: Can Mahalo save us from Google, Digg, and Wikipedia?

There is a really insightful article about the value of social search at TechRepublic today. There is a great discussion going on about Mahalo in the comments.

My favorite moment in the life span of a startup is when the vision of the team, the development of the product, and the public’s understanding of the product start to align. Now, the author at TechRepublic is obviously a more advanced user, but when the pundit and analysts understand your product to this level of detail (I mean, this guy gets it), then you are only about six to 12 months away from the public getting it.

That’s a blog post I guess…. maybe I’ll write that one on my way up to Sand Hill road today.

Toro, a bulldog

Hello. My name is Jason.
I'm the CEO of Mahalo.com, a human powered search engine. I was previously the co-founder of Weblogs, Inc. with Brian Alvey, and the GM of Netscape.

I'm currently on the board of social shopping site ThisNext. You might remember me from my days as editor and CEO of the Silicon Alley Reporter magazine.

Mike Arrington and I partnered on the TechCrunch40 event in September. We're going to do it again next year.

This is my blog, this is where I live. You should also listen to my podcast.
