Mahalo submitted links…

Just noticed that the iPhone SeRP on Mahalo (http://www.mahalo.com/iPhone) has been hit up by a ton of spammers and SEOs. Our Guides have sorted through a bunch of the links and added two and blocked six.

In the screen shot below you can see what our Guides see when they are logged in. Pay specific attention to the Block User, Hide Comment, Unblock Link, etc. links. Our Guides can ban, add, and deal with incoming links with one click.

Blackhat SEOs can try to spam the index, but every time they do they just wind up putting their domain name into the Mahalo Blacklist.

You can see recommend links in the right hand column of every serp. If you click “Top Submitted Links” at you see the details of what has been added and blocked.

Toro, a bulldog

Hello. My name is Jason.
I'm the CEO of Mahalo.com, a human powered search engine. I was previously the co-founder of Weblogs, Inc. with Brian Alvey, and the GM of Netscape.

I'm currently on the board of social shopping site ThisNext. You might remember me from my days as editor and CEO of the Silicon Alley Reporter magazine.

Mike Arrington and I partnered on the TechCrunch40 event in September. We're going to do it again next year.

This is my blog, this is where I live. You should also listen to my podcast.
