Professor X has left the building…

Yep, Brian Alvey has left AOL.
http://www.brianalvey.com/2007/05/24/why-i-am-leaving-aol/

For those you playing along at home… the management team at Weblogs, Inc and how long they stayed at AOL:

  • Shawn Gold (Publisher): 90 days
  • Jason Calacanis (CEO): one year
  • Judith Meskill (COO): one years, five months
  • Brian Alvey (President, co-founder): one year, six months

AOL folks who also left:

  • Jon Miller, CEO
  • Jim Bankoff, EVP
  • Tina Sharkey, SVP
  • Steve Swad, CFO
  • CK Sample (WIN blogger and assistant GM Netscape): about a year.

Who’s left at AOL/Weblogs, Inc (from what I know):

  • Brad Hill
  • Steve Friedman
  • Peter Rojas
  • Ryan Block
  • Barb Dybwad

Interesting how much can change in just a year.

Good luck to Brian who has started ComicMix.com.

Toro, a bulldog

Hello. My name is Jason.
I'm the CEO of Mahalo.com, a human powered search engine. I was previously the co-founder of Weblogs, Inc. with Brian Alvey, and the GM of Netscape.

I'm currently on the board of social shopping site ThisNext. You might remember me from my days as editor and CEO of the Silicon Alley Reporter magazine.

Mike Arrington and I partnered on the TechCrunch40 event in September. We're going to do it again next year.

This is my blog, this is where I live. You should also listen to my podcast.
