A catch phrase will go here soon.

Large monitor productivity… what's the largest display I can buy/which one is most productive?

5/19/2007

I’ve long been a fan of two monitors, large monitors and lots of screen real estate. I started with the Dell 2405 24″ monitor, then went to two, then to a 30″ Dell 3007 and a 24″, and even tried two 30″ monitors (and failed since my card wouldn’t drive two 30″ monitors).

Right now I feel like I want to go for it…. I want to have ABSURD screen real estate. If money was no object what’s the biggest, most productive monitor setup I could buy?

I’d like to stick with a Mac to do this, but would consider a PC.

I’m wondering if it’s better to have one huge 42″ plasma and scan my eyes across it, or if I should create a three 30″ monitor setup.

Is there a curved monitor setup I can buy like you see in scifi movies? Seriously, want to spend like $10,000 on monitors and just blow it out–big time.

Thoughts?

Did you ever get an answer about this?
    I am currently using 2560×1600 Dell 3007wfp-hc.
What are you using? What did you find out about what is commercially available?

Hello, my name is Jason. Welcome to my blog on the interwebs. You can reach me on twitter @jason and by email at jason@calacanis.com. My Skype is jasoncalacanis, and my mobile phone is 310-456-4900.

I only pick up numbers I recognize, and in terms of emailing me, the best strategy is to write short, blunt and to the point requests. I can quickly respond to short messages, and many times I simply don't have the time to read five page pitches. In terms of taking meetings, I only do that after reviewing an actual product (not a business plan). So, the best time to ping me is when you have mockups or an alpha site. I don't read business plans, and I've never written one.
