Why does iTunes only download three podcasts at a time? Why isn’t iTunes P2P?

Am I missing something or shouldn’t I be able to set the number of simultaneous downloads on iTunes? Three is fine if you’re downloading a couple of podcasts a day, but I have like 50 podcasts I’m subscribed to and sometimes I have to download like 20-30 things.

Also, shouldn’t iTunes build in some P2P software from Red Swoosh and let you download podcats from peers!? That would make the system so much faster–right?!

NOTE: I’m talking about SIMULTANEOUS downloads–as in the number of concurrent downloads–not the number of queued downloads.

  1. Hey Jason,

Just a pleasant note from September, 2009. Apple still hasn’t fixed this and probably never will. Being worth 100 billion does not suit Apple. It has made them a lazy, lazy company.
