Netscape’s Next Killer feature: Do you know?

We added a couple of new features to the Netscape beta to allow folks to find new friends.

If you click on your user account there is a tab that says “Do You Know?” which shows you:

1. Friends of Friends
2. Members with similar voting habits to you.
3. Members with rates comments similar to you.
4. Unclaimed Friends: folks who added you as a friend but you did reciprocate.

The funny part about these features is that my tech team came up with them and built them on their own. This is what I love about hiring the best, smartest, and most driven folks: they do great things without asking for permission. Way to go guys!!! Keep up the amazing work… there is only one rule: we are here to serve!

Toro, a bulldog

Hello. My name is Jason.
I'm the CEO of Mahalo.com, a human powered search engine. I was previously the co-founder of Weblogs, Inc. with Brian Alvey, and the GM of Netscape.

I'm currently on the board of social shopping site ThisNext. You might remember me from my days as editor and CEO of the Silicon Alley Reporter magazine.

Mike Arrington and I partnered on the TechCrunch40 event in September. We're going to do it again next year.

This is my blog, this is where I live. You should also listen to my podcast.
