Google and AOL, one relationship at a time.

I wasn’t involved in Google’s investment in AOL in any way other than giving the thumbs up when I heard about it. However, I’ve got a bunch of friends at Google and yesterday I got to have lunch with one of them, Jason Shellen.

Jason came to Google via the Blogger acquisition and built their slick RSS reader. He’s up to some great stuff now as well. The great part is that when we have lunch everything is on the table in terms of colaboration–they own 5% of our company and we make them a large amount of money after all! I’ll keep you posted.

Toro, a bulldog

Hello. My name is Jason.
I'm the CEO of Mahalo.com, a human powered search engine. I was previously the co-founder of Weblogs, Inc. with Brian Alvey, and the GM of Netscape.

I'm currently on the board of social shopping site ThisNext. You might remember me from my days as editor and CEO of the Silicon Alley Reporter magazine.

Mike Arrington and I partnered on the TechCrunch40 event in September. We're going to do it again next year.

This is my blog, this is where I live. You should also listen to my podcast.
