Interview with Esther

Back in 1995 I interviewed Esther Dyson (on a Saturday afternoon), and shortly after that I launched Silicon Alley Reporter as my own personal Release 1.0. She was always very generous with me, speaking at any event I held–even when the market sucked and the audiences started to thin out.

Almost ten years after that I met Esther at her office (on a Saturday night–she keeps odd hours) to explain our ideas for Weblogs, Inc. She thought it was a good idea, but not for anyone to do–she thought it was a good idea for me to do it. That made a lot of sense to me.

Anyway, Esther did a great interview here.

Toro, a bulldog

Hello. My name is Jason.
I'm the CEO of Mahalo.com, a human powered search engine. I was previously the co-founder of Weblogs, Inc. with Brian Alvey, and the GM of Netscape.

I'm currently on the board of social shopping site ThisNext. You might remember me from my days as editor and CEO of the Silicon Alley Reporter magazine.

Mike Arrington and I partnered on the TechCrunch40 event in September. We're going to do it again next year.

This is my blog, this is where I live. You should also listen to my podcast.
