Why did Yahoo drop Google? (or get ready for My.Google.com, Google Messenger and yourname@Google.com)

The image on the right shows one of themany reasons why Yahoo dropped Google as a search engine: search and My Yahoo integration. Note that if you search for a blog you get a) a link to the RSS and b) the ability to add the blog to your My Yahoo! account automatically!

By the end of the year Google will have a) My.Google.com, b) Free email and c) an instant messenger.

Hello. My name is Jason.
I'm the CEO of Mahalo.com, a human powered search engine. I was previously the co-founder of Weblogs, Inc. with Brian Alvey, and the GM of Netscape.

I'm currently on the board of social shopping site ThisNext. You might remember me from my days as editor and CEO of the Silicon Alley Reporter magazine.
